"Rapid Response" encompasses the activities necessary to plan and deliver services to enable dislocated workers to transition to new employment as quickly as possible, following either a permanent closure or mass layoff, or a natural or other disaster resulting in a mass job dislocation.

The Rapid Response Labor Liaison Project (RRLLP) Staff works directly with the Office of Workforce Development’s (OWD) Rapid Response Team. Information about OWD’s Rapid Response Team services is currently located on the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs’ (ADECA) web-site. Rapid Response Team to enhance coordination and communication between ADECA Staff and AFL-CIO affiliated unions for all layoff, layoff aversions and closure activities. We assist in setting up worker orientation sessions to inform affected workers of available services and benefits. During these sessions workers are given information on job training options, unemployment compensation benefits, job search and placement, health insurance continuation, pension benefits, credit counseling, etc.
